THE BEACH HOUSE GREEN STATEMENT / COMMITMENT

The Beach House joined the Green Business Tourism Scheme in June 2010. It's a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, improving the environment, promoting a healthy lifestyle and implementing sustainable business planning to constantly improve our performance.

We invite all guests to participate in our efforts to achieve our goals this can be through any of the following:

  • Using the thermostatic Radiator settings to regulate temperature
  • Turn off all the lights and appliances when leaving the apartments
  • Use the single flush on the toilets whenever possible
  • Segregate paper, card, newspapers & put in the recycling bin outside
  • Use the heated towel rails to dry out towels
  • Make sure all radiators are off when the weather is hot

Blackpool Seafront has some fabulous alternatives to taking your car. The Tramway has been totally renewed over the last 2 years and now offers new metro style trams which are very smooth and quick, saver tickets can be purchased at the newsagents (Martins) on Redbank Rd. The buses are good for going off or away from the seafront. The council has recently introduced a pay as you go cycle network. The bikes are situated across the road at the tram station opposite Red Bank Rd. There is a map, hub locations and an explanation of how the scheme works. The idea is to make it the most affordable system at just £1 per hour, www.hourbike.com or 01253 320094 if you want to bring your own bikes we have an outside area where you can lock them up.

All the products used at The Beach House have been sourced with the environment in mind.

For those customers who want to know more about the scheme you can go to The Green Tourism Business Scheme.
